La Mue (The Quiver) is a documentary tale created as part of the reinvention of Farinelli's song at IRCAM.
In the basement of IRCAM, researchers try to reinvent an 18th century aria that the Italian castrato Farinelli used to sing every night to the King of Spain to soothe his melancholy. With the assistance of artificial intelligence, different human voices merge to reconstitute the singer’s almost supernatural vocal range. Imagined with the protagonists, the film retraces this experience.
